pinkytheent Someone get these folks on a Sad Boi Tour with Pallbearer, stat! Slumbering Sun have given us a fantastic work of reaching, yearning melodies, of aching sorrow and hard-to-define ennui in the vein of those Arkansan forebears, while still very much having their own fuzzed stoner-adjacent voice. Excellent arrangement allows us to breathe before being walloped by a wall of emotional sound, melodies travel from crushing awesome riffs to desolate lonely passages, instruments and vox sound great. Favorite track: The Ever-Living Fire.

Zarvoc Liminal Bridges has a great chance of making Song Of The Year. It's incredibly catchy and has a fun structure. Looking forward to more releases from these guys! Favorite track: Liminal Bridges.

Morgenröte is one of the best songs of the last few years.
The rest is great. And the album is a fantastic piece of music. Favorite track: Morgenröte.

fartykannon This feels like I'm lost adrift in space waiting on life support to fail and having a conversation with myself about myself and how that relates to others... in a good way Favorite track: Liminal Bridges.

Daniel Câmara I'm still trying to recover from the blast that this album is. An incredibly heavy, fuzzy, doomed emotional journey through some almost forgotten parts in my mind. This might be the album of the year so far for me. Favorite track: The Ever-Living Fire.

Morgenröte 12:21
Wake up and greet the day Darkness bleeds away Winter sun, so crimson-bright Bringing shadows into sight Now I see this path before me Hope the sea forgives my audacity Not for nothing, ride the sea On the edge of death and life Stood before the waves unshaken Starfire burns in me Deliver fate into my hands Embark into the void undaunted Casting gold into the roil I cannot sate this nightmare Of ancient bone, blood is sewn I cannot sate this nightmare Not for nothing, ride the sea On the edge of death and life Stood before the waves unshaken Starfire, fleeting dream Path written in the stars Strings of fate remain unbroken Casting gold into the roil I cannot sate this nightmare Of ancient bone, blood is sewn I cannot sate this nightmare Sailing through visions of peace Hollow illusions tempting me Stories told, the house of old Drift away from you, my final refuge Now I set my course, the unforgiving north The cold beckons forth, abandon warmth Can I see the light again? Under wreckage of the stars, I make my bed Daybreak fading in Last hope, distant and remote That I shall forever hold

In a moment frozen in time, I could read the lips of the wind, and I began to climb upward towards the world's end. Now between the shadow and light In the space behind these walls In the midst of dawn and twilight Chaos! Calling out to me! Fly to me Sometimes I feel I'm a traveler Never at home upon this plane Never at home amongst these earthly things Sometimes I worry that I will never Understand the pain, the fear, the mystery of you Beautiful you, desolate night burns in your eyes Free me from the chains of time and space Now when we're apart I'm tortured by the distance that I feel between to be and not to be. In every silhouette, behind horizon lines, the love, the fear, the mystery of you Beautiful you, desolate night burns in your eyes In the void of your embrace, I find it in my heart to leave this place behind Fly to me

Love in a lonely place Left upon your heart, anxiety No room for you, my friend Helpless to the winds of love and laughter Love when there's nothing left Made it clear that I can't hold you closer Love in a fallen world draped upon beliefs I've set before me So I wonder, so I wonder, what's left? Can I make it when you've taken my breath? So I wonder, so I wonder, what's left? Love in a fallen world draped upon beliefs I've set before me No room for you, my friend Helpless to the winds of love and laughter Love in a shallow way Step across my heart until its bloody No thought of yesterday Lost inside a moment, never left me So you crossed the river, hoping its not the same Emotions withered, fearing that you're insane I loved you deeper, but its all in my mind Beautiful figure, casting shadows of time So you crossed the river, hoping its still the same I loved you deeper, still the distance remains

Dream Snake 08:33
Consuming ancient root, slipping off to dream Mind taking twists and turns, nothing's as it seems Castles of fallen stars, fields of blue and green Set me an early grave, let my soul be free Let my soul be free Forever field of dreams Let my soul be free Forever For within my own dreams we are quite serene Standing behind the veil, godless majesty Golden and lilac eyes, cutting into me Rivers of crimson tears, carry me to sleep Carry me to sleep, Amongst the things I said we'd keep Sitting on the rock of time I thought I heard you speak I thought I heard you Carry me to sleep, Amongst the things I said we'd keep Sitting on the rock of time I thought I heard you speak Oh, time Ever the judge of the feelings we've lost but we've turned into stone Oh, life Ever the chaos with not but a morsel of light turned to stone Go desire! To some other heart! I'll keep you safe but only in my mind, where we can live the rest of my days in a silver slumber Go! You liar, you thief! Took everything from me except for my dreams
5.
Above the crowd of little lies I throw away my alibis And dance across the bridge of sighs to count the stars within your eyes Arise again, my ashen hope And take my hand, and we'll elope So give me just a diamond truth and crush me like you always do When fortune's done, she'll break me like a glass The lasting truth is nothing ever lasts What I would give to see it all again The secret is that nothing ever ends Come into life and pass away You never go, you never stay Cause justice is a passion play So go ahead and have your way Dance with me, you sacred sin All things in space, they love to spin So give me just the golden truth Then crush me like you always do You never sleep nor tire, An ever-living fire! O dancing star! O cloth of chaos! Who wraps me up in blazing silk Strip me down to the bone Was that life? Once more.
